Bro. Zimmerman was born in Summit, New Jersey on 1 March 1924 and Raised in Liverpool Lodge No. 525 on 5 December 1983. He was a civil engineer at Hancock Air Force Base in Syracuse. He was predeceased by his wife, Carlotta Nashman in 1990, and by his two sons, Richard and John, and was survived by three children, Paul of Jackson, NJ; Virginia I. of Weedsport, and Michael of Baldwinsville, along with eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held 26 November in Jackson, NJ with interment in Harmony Methodist Church Cemetery.
