James Hayden, 66, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday at home. Born in Boston, MA, he graduated from North Syracuse High School. He worked at General Motors before he founded Hayden Jewelers in 1979. He was one of the founding members of the Onondaga Numismatic Association. He was a past president of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Cavalry Club, Liverpool BPOE Lodge No. 2348, a lifetime member of the Pastime Athletic Club, and was a member of Liverpool-Syracuse Masonic Lodge No. 501, having been Raised 7 Dec 1981.
He was predeceased by his sister, Gayle Hayden who passed away on May 10, 2007. James is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ann (Schug) Hayden; sons, John W. (Jennifer) and Mark J. (Lori) Hayden of Liverpool; daughter, Kimberly (Hayden) Abbey of Baldwinsville; brothers, Paul Roche of Butler, PA and Timothy (Norma) Roche of Liverpool; sister, Catherine (Robert) Koutras of Brockport; grandchildren, Alexis and Olivia Hayden and Jessica and Jacob Abbey; several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be Monday, May 28, 2007 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, Route 31 (about half mile west of Route 57 Oswego Road) with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 3541 Route 31, Baldwinsville and 11 a.m. in St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 873 DeWitt Street, Syracuse with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
