Thursday, May 22, 2008Eric George Brandt, 83, of Liverpool, passed away Thursday at his home. Born in Greenwich, CT, he was a graduate of Glens Falls High School and attended Skidmore College. He was a NAVY veteran of WWII from 1943 to 1946, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Eric retired from National Cash Register Co. and Coradian Corp. He was a member of Liverpool-Syracuse Lodge # 501 F&AM and the Cicero American Legion Post #787. Eric is survived by his wife, Gloria L. Brandt; a son, Jeff Brandt of Baldwinsville; a daughter, Karen (William) Nugent of Chester Springs, PA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Nugent, Eric Brandt and Stephanie Brandt.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY, with a service to follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be private.

Saturday, November 10, 2007Brother Lewis H. Goodman, 82, passed Saturday morning 10 November 2007, at home. He was born December 4, 1924, the son of Frank A. and H. Elizabeth Hackeman Goodman. He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1942 and Syracuse University in 1947. Brother Goodman was a lifetime member of James Street United Methodist Church and a former lay leader of the church. He was a Chrysler dealer for 48 years–founder of Lewis Goodman Inc. and still active in the business at the time of his death.
Mr. Goodman was a Time Dealer Award Recipient and served on the National Dealer Council with Iacocca during the Chrysler crisis. He was a former president of New York State Auto Dealers, former president of AAA of Syracuse, a 15-year counselor for S.C.O.R.E. of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, a member of Liverpool Syracuse Lodge 501 for 54 years, member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Syracuse, Tigris Shrine, a member of the Royal Order of Jester Syracuse Court No. 79, and a member of Syracuse Rotary Club.
Bro. Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Annette B. Craig, and their two children, Barbara Jesmer (Michael) and Craig L. Goodman Sr.; grandchildren Annette H. (Dana) Kuhlmann, Laurie J. LaShomb, John C. Hayes, Craig L. Goodman Jr., Christopher L. Goodman, Julie L. (Daniel) Besanson and Michael L. Jesmer; great-grandchildren Katherine Kuhlmann, Lauren Kuhlmann, Colleen Kuhlmann, Mary Kuhlmann, Aaron LaShomb Jr. and Leslie Besanson; and several nieces and nephews.
Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ken Irwin, 84, formerly of Liverpool, died Monday.
Bro. Ken was a Sixty-year Member of Liverpool Syracuse Lodge No. 501, 32nd Degree, Scottish Rite, Shriner and Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving Ken are his son, Jim and wife, Caryn Kogos-Irwin of Liverpool; a daughter, Julie Irwin Williams and her husband, John Williams of Virginia; dear sister, Eileen Easton and many beloved nieces, nephews and their children mostly residing in Toronto, Canada. His loving wife, Mabel Sword Irwin to whom he was married for over 60 years, predeceased him in 2005. His older sister, Marion Lennon, recently passed
away.
Ken was a terrific hockey player as well as a musician growing up in Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto before serving as an Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II, stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. Ken and Mabel lived there the first years of married life. Post World War II, they traveled to the United States so that Ken could complete graduate school in Engineering at Ohio State University. Later, Ken took a management position at Carrier Corporation in Syracuse and the family then made their home in Liverpool, where they lived most of their lives.
They were lifelong members of the United Church of Christ, in Bayberry. He will be remembered for his feisty humor, kindness, and his love of sweets which in later years, was mostly related to chocolate. He always loved to laugh and enjoyed people’s company immensely. His one-liners were legendary. Easy to be around, he had many interests including golf, duplicate bridge, hockey, following sports and politics, which he had many informed opinions about. He was a fine father and an adoring husband all his years.
The Shriners, Masons and Eastern Star organizations were a vital part of both Ken and Mabel’s life where they took part in charitable and fundraising events for the Crippled Children’s Foundation and burn victims for more than six decades.
Calling hours will be Monday, June 11, 2007 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the United Church of Christ in Bayberry, 215 Blackberry Road.
A funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Boston.

Tuesday, May 22, 2007James Hayden, 66, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday at home. Born in Boston, MA, he graduated from North Syracuse High School. He worked at General Motors before he founded Hayden Jewelers in 1979. He was one of the founding members of the Onondaga Numismatic Association. He was a past president of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Cavalry Club, Liverpool BPOE Lodge No. 2348, a lifetime member of the Pastime Athletic Club, and was a member of Liverpool-Syracuse Masonic Lodge No. 501, having been Raised 7 Dec 1981.
He was predeceased by his sister, Gayle Hayden who passed away on May 10, 2007. James is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ann (Schug) Hayden; sons, John W. (Jennifer) and Mark J. (Lori) Hayden of Liverpool; daughter, Kimberly (Hayden) Abbey of Baldwinsville; brothers, Paul Roche of Butler, PA and Timothy (Norma) Roche of Liverpool; sister, Catherine (Robert) Koutras of Brockport; grandchildren, Alexis and Olivia Hayden and Jessica and Jacob Abbey; several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be Monday, May 28, 2007 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, Route 31 (about half mile west of Route 57 Oswego Road) with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 3541 Route 31, Baldwinsville and 11 a.m. in St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 873 DeWitt Street, Syracuse with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
